C20LET 1st gear switch

I've been doing some reading on these and most people are saying bridge the wires if not running a F28.

I'm not an expert but that sounds wrong to me? If the wires are bridged the ECU will think the car is in 1st gear all the time?

What do you lot think?

I presume the switch breaks it when in first gear, So thats why?

If people have done it and got ok boost, must be fine? Since IIRC it wont boost/rev right if it thinks its in 1st gear?

Correct its a normally closed switch thats broken when first gear is engaged

Yeah my old let was a twist and tape jobby it just stops boost in first gear otherwise
