hi all
i have a K reg nova with a c20xe engine. The engine is an early no cat or lamba sensor astra engine. I need an MOT next week so was just wondering how the car will pass emisions as wont it need a cat test? Or does MOT go on engine or shell?
Cheers

if you can prove the engine came from a pre 93 car then no the emisions test goes on which ever is older be it engine or car,

friendly mot tester, any decent mechanic will be able to tell (no lamber or wiring for it in the loom)

If the tester follows the flow chart in the 'book' then you will only ever have a basic emissions test due to the engine never having been fitted to a Nova.

As said if its non cat and non lambda then it will have the old emissions test which it should fly through.
