Anyone know the max continuous RPM for a standard 1.2 engine, and the max peak RPM.

dont some of the dizzys have some kinda weights in em that moved out as the RPM's rose and they eventually reached a point where it woudld kill the ignition
to give u an idea - SPi rev limiter is at 6200rpm, the mpi rev limiters are at 6800rpm
i wouldnt go much past 6200 really
as for continous i sit on the motorway regularly at like 4000-4500rpm in 4th gear (70-80mph) and have driven 300miles to birmingham at that speed all the way
much over that and its a bit strained so its a waste of fuel espeically for motorway crusing but i did get it to 100 which is 5500rpm for a short period of time (as long as the hill lasted ;) )
