im 20, held license for two years, no points, crimnal convictions etc etc
ill keep it short,
last month some prick drove into me, he didnt accept liabilty and is try to claim against me and saidd its my falut.
my insurane was due for renewal the other day so ive been getting quotes on go compare. as i have a claim currently ongoing i have been told that i have curently lost what on saturday would of been 2 years NCB.
this has sent my insurance through the roof.
got a quote for a 1.0 12v corsa(third party only)
the cheapest on go-compare.com
...£1870
£510 deposit
11 monthly payments of £123
wtf
you cant get any smaller than a 1.0 corsa and tpo is the cheapest way to insure, unless you go with no insurance(which i wont do!!!)
advice please

third party only mate is normally more expensive then third party fire and theft when ive done it in the past normally knocks of 200 quid easy so try that
Try Sky, they said they could insure me with my NCB until the claim was settled but if it doesn't go your way the insurance gets cancelled.

What he said.
Put some old duffer on it aswell, ive been doing it since i passed 4 years ago. Makes a hell of a difference.
Last year i insured my GT TDI for £500, would of been £800 without my old man. And i may be insuring my RS Turbo in a few months if i can be bothered, otherwise ill use trade. But again its £400 more if the policy is just me.

i think he means put ur old man on your policy mate not you on his
Yes, he doesn't mean 'fronting'. You would be the policy holder but your mum/dad/etc would be on the policy as a named driver.

I would think your best sticking with your existing company, i.e. renewing with them whilst it is sorted out, they should maintain your ncb, but won't give additional ncb, until your current claim is sorted.
If you lose the claim, it will go up any way, trying to change companies with an ongoing claim will result in you getting reamed even more immediately:mad:

Anything you overpay now, you will get back if the claim is settled in your favor.
So if you pay say £1800 now, but the price is £800 with no claim and 2yrs ncb, then when your claim is settled non-fault, you will get back the 2yrs NCB and a 1k refund.
Hope this helps.

No, your the main driver. The old duffer is the named driver

I recently got a quote fully comp for 400ish, just out of interest I looked at what it would be tpft, it went up by 1k. I thought it must be an error but nope. Depends on your circumstances mind you.

i get what your saying, but there are reasons why i aint going with my existing company. i had been checking quotes to renew my insurace before the crash and they wer far from the cheapest, and my insureance wasnt dropping tht much compared to quotes with other companies so i had decided i was going to change companies before the crash had happened. and now the crash has happened its the same they still are far from the cheapest
i had checked with my current insureance and it was them who said i would lose my 2 years ncb

hey kieth yes i know this but its still a kick in nuts as i have been told this could take months or longer to get settled and insurance companies are looking deposits of around £550 for me to renew a policy and thats just ridiculous:(
@db_1.2 yea i see that now lol, ill speak to the "old duffer" and see what he says, cheers
@Gaz1300SRI i get what you mean, everyones quote will be different for different reasons
