View Full Version : GSI Bodykit Moulds
Was looking through Ebay and found this:
Would be ideal for Mike who would be able to reproduce the kit using carbon fibre? or even for someone so start making the kits and selling them at a discounted price to PNG members ;):dlol.
Good find :thumb:

looking at all that, if buy most of that mike lol
Out of intrest how hard is it to make a mould and do a fibreglass copy of something like a lower front spoiler for a nova ?
The moulds are the hard bit IMO. Anything pulled from them is only ever as good the mould (obviously).
An unfortunatly there not all that cheap or quick to make either :( its easier'ish if you start with good condition OE item (older the car, harder it is to get the part) split moulds are very hard Ive found, to make spoilers & massive complex peices like dashboards etc.
Nick, for some one with enough up front cash & who knows what there doing theres a right old potential to start a GRP panel company there.
What are the moulds made from then ?
Please forgive the total lack of knowledge I have on this subject lol

Depends whos made them really. Some people make them from fiberglass csm with a gel coat finish, Ive seen mdf used (carbon foot tray moulds as there just flat with right angle corners). I use a 2 pack epoxy dought type stuff with a gel coat finish. (£75 for 25kg though!)
Heres what happens when they go wrong though lol (Corsa C mirror shell mould)

Made the mould pukka, 1mm oversize to compensate for thickness of carbon. Layed the mould up but obviously didnt apply enough release agent lol lol come release time :( it ended in tears
