hi,
what do people do with the brake servo pipe as it's to long?

Cut it and use a bit of rubber pipe.

No don't just use a piece of rubber pipe unless you don't want the servo to work

Ok, remove the hard plastic pipe from the car and carefully remove the two ends and the one way valve. make a note of which way the valve goes

If the end that go into the pipe are of 12mm Dia then you need to order from your local dealer 3434616 which is the proper Servo vacum Pipe.

Now this comes on a roll but is sold by the meter which i would say will be more than enough. also get four hose clips at the same time.

Now you need to make the new hose with the parts you have so first of all measure out the lenght of the new pipe give it a little slack for engine movment.

At about the ahlf way point cut the hose and insert the oneway vale making sure it the correct way round and secure with a couple of hose clips.

Now fit the end and secure with hose clips and fit to the car

Or just use a bit of rubber pipe. Mine works fine.

Over do a servo hose, Mine was done with a piece of rubber pipe and was fine for a year, Same as my corsa.

I've used rubber/silicone pipe on the servo pipe for years on different cars, never ever had a problem

I've just done it for my Sport rebuild as well

What's the problem in using it ? :confused:

im using silicon on my chevette as well, as im having to make a custom one.

considering its called vacuum piping on tinternet i would guess its right lol.

Use injection fuel line, as its pretty stiff and re-enforced.
Normal rubber pipe will collapse under vacuum

As long as it's vacuum hose it doesn't matter. It's similar to fuel pipe in that it has fibres woven through it but it's slightly stiffer again.

The Vx stuff is ok until you want to remove it, then you have to cut it off.
