Carb fuel pipe SR

Hello all! I am fitting 40's to my SR and I currently have the standard pierburg 2E3 fitted !! I was looking at my current set up and I was wondering ...why do I have a fuel return pipe from the carb :s !! the dellorto's only have a supply to fill each bowl! Anyone done this and found the same??

You will find a lot of standard fit carbs have a fuel return, the 2E3 being one of them. You will just have to block the return outlet off at the fuel tank :)
