As some of you may know I fitted a 12ST from a Nova into my Mk2 Astra estate, and assumed that the carb would be a Pierburg 1B... it is a Weber
single choke carb with fuel return  any ideas?? Apologies for crappy phone pics...

Also what is the cast pipe just above the square part of the manifold?

Not a clue mate, not kept at home so I can't look for any casting marks :( the main thing is just finding an air filter for it asap...

Just get hold of a 2e or 1b and fit itg air filter? The varijet twin choke is a good carb I've raced with them for nearly 12 years

tights lol, ive tried that before and it got bloody sucked into the engine and spat out the exhaust.

2 screw filter housing from an spi might work ?
had one of these webers on a previous 12ST, i believe a few engines came with them as standard ?
was just as good as the 1b i thought.

what you done with the return ?
got a connector for it on the fuel tank, or you loop-returned it to the feed line ?

Yeh the fuel tank has a return pipe (Its on a Mk2 Astra)

A lad is bringing me a 1.2 filter tonight so I will be able to check it for fit, and modify as necessary. Although I have been considering the SPi inlet as another option...

Nope its completely different :p but cheers anyway Dave. Everything seems against me at the minute, was hoping to get it MOT'd this weekend but highly unlikely :(

Danny - it has a fuel return whereas the 1.0 carb doesn't...

i'd agree with garyc, it looks like a weber 36tlp. i've got one on mine and it looks identical.

mine was supplied by fast road cars as a direct replacement for the single choke peirburg on early sr.
