yeh i know. but people were sceptical yesterday whether it would work. but did you mate do up his spark plug up to 25nm, then do 90degrees then another 90 degrees.... then another 90 degrees. usually about 30 nm there done up to. so its fine. a headbolt is a little different. those four stages are a hell of a tighten up!

I would imagine whatever he's fitting he'd be using Vauxhalls torque figures for the bolts lol
It's 25nm then 65, 65, 65 degrees, though still an **** clenching time!

nope i used payen ways. but 65 65 65 sounds soooooo much nicer lol. i dont like the 90, i almost cry one the last one!!
people have been helicoiling for a very long time, i'm not surprised it worked ok....
having seen block stitching & metal spraying done, this old school stuff is quite impressive.

i know its just the fact that the amount of strain that had to go on it was quite extreme. quite pleased how does metal spraying go? just refill the hole with metal and drill and tap?
metal spraying is a kind of welding to build up a shaft so it can be re machined.

Looks a strange process but obviously works.
