honie5
16-02-11, 06:04 PM
the green one is the old one! haha thats your opinion i like to be different and not follow the crowd which modifying is all about your obviously one of those sheeps but everyone has there opinion and is entitled to it!
the green one was actually a demo car for my brothers business to show what he could do everything on that car was built by my brother and me! well i made the teas :)

honie5
16-02-11, 06:05 PM
the porsche wheels are 15x7j so will fit a dream with hub adaptors just got to get the spacers right!

calibra-keith
16-02-11, 06:54 PM
like i have already said i like the white project, im aware there both different cars just not keen on the green one 'saxo wannabe' i also know the amount of work involved and cant fault that,

as for

your obviously one of those sheeps what is one of then sheeps these days ? putting a redtop in nova is fallowing the crowd (i will be doing it to before you see that as an insult) and the style of the green nova is a bit out there but not different and been done a lot, just as much following the max power sheep.

honie5
16-02-11, 07:02 PM
balley yer yer i remember you your corsa was class! yer no worries mate you pay postage pal you can have them for nothing! ive not long been on here lad!
reevie hows it going! yer were both on here now thought it was bout time!

honie5
16-02-11, 07:05 PM
the redtop is the best option price wise for now to get best power so thats why its so widely done! and max power maybe but no nova has ever seen mods like that green one so not really following a crowd there!

honie5
16-02-11, 07:08 PM

right heres a quick update of progress so far, from looking at it, cosmetically looked good but just hoped it would be the same under all the make up which thankfully it sort of is. now got engine out took all bumpers off wings bonnet etc to see extent of damage other then passenger inner wing being shot and two holes that were hidden behind the rear bumper which looked like someone has cut strangely :s but hey with bit of welding it will be like new :)
anyway enough blabbering heres some pics!

So another little update got the engine mounted today which was a pain in the **** but got there in the end waiting for another session on Monday! This is how I left it today not a great pic as it was up on the ramp and forgot to get more so only got the one!

http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/f01a666a.jpg

I've also got the dash in waiting for bits and bobs to go back on! I also fitted the clear rear lights! I was going to tint the top half red but it looks really good as it is now!

Ive also got a wood work company next door to my misses dads mot garage to cut me some board for the back so it's all flat ready to do whatever I fancy with it! This is how I started it with a bit of cardboard then got carried away and forgot photos but it's now cut out of wood so whenever I et chance to finish it I'll sort pics!

http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/22180ce4.jpg

And benn did you mean the top blue bit and then just use top plate to hold it in place? Sorry having a dense moment lol

Yeah, the two blue rings you move to raise the spring, you want something under them to stop water getting in and it all seizing up.

Arches need rolling?

honie5
14-06-11, 07:30 PM
O right lol might just be the light!
I've rolled the insides and there's plenty of room doesnt touch anywhere just don't know how low I can go at the front because of the manifold might have to heat it up to Ben it up abit but that's last resort!

Took it for a test drive up the road and where my house is has alot of speed bumps so needless to say I have a few scratches on the manifold now so it's low enough lol the bottom of the springs sit very close to the wheels but didn't touch so it's all good!
One question do coilovers need the two adjustable bits for the c spanner under the spring or just one?

jaygsi
15-06-11, 04:49 PM
My misses car has 2 ajustable bits. Not a fan of mirriors but each to there own. Don't think i'd have it that low. But saying that i'm just getting old :(

honie5
15-06-11, 04:54 PM
Ok just wondering if i can get rid of the bottom one as would give me a little bit more room on the wheels! Most people have said that but there different and only wing mirrors so going to keep them :) haha the lower the better got some 100mm rear springs so will see how it looks with them on as the rear is rather high now lol I really like the front though!

redstig
15-06-11, 05:02 PM
hi mate, say those wheel on a corsa at PV on sunday, what are they?

jaygsi
15-06-11, 05:03 PM
Lad if you like them you keep them, i use to have m3 mirriors on mine, but wouldn't have anything from standard again. We had to adjust the misses car it was to low for her, and it was killing my moobs ;)

A small update as winters only round the corner and want to keep myself busy! My brother has just aquired a plough bumper so I have robbed his front bumper as it suits my car a lot Better than the sport bumper! I've also removed a bit of the Schultz on the rear chassis legs and there rather rusty but thankfully still solid so over winter will be sorting that out! Will put pics up when I get round to it! Anyway some pics! The bumpers only test fitted as it will need to come off and get tidied up and re painted!

Are you going to colour code the bumpers and do the splitters grey, or paint the full bumpers grey ?

honie5
21-09-11, 09:22 PM
The back bumper is black with the top line of it painted body colour so may do same with the front but like it all black so might just paint the grill badge body colour! Not sure yet I always change my mind so will see what happens lol

14-12-11, 03:23 PM
So after the summer I thought I'd make a few changes over the winter! So so far I've changed the front bumper which makes it look loads better! I've also got rid of the White bucket seats as it really didn't go and I've purchased some vectra half leather seats I'm going to make fit the nova! There black half leather ones and stitching matches colour of car so look proper nice no pics yet though as I need to dig them out the back of the garage as I've got my brothers engine in there in front of nova so hard to get around it all! Also going to re paint the roof as we wernt happy with it last year due to paintin it outside between rain showers which wasn't great but had to be done lol also going to get the rocker and belt cover painted red as they let car down with the drab silver colour ATM! Anyway enough of me talkin I'll put some pics up!
http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/d4a71c9f.jpg
Front bumper been taken back off now to sand it back along with the grill and give it some fresh paint as it's bit tatty!
http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/5b5d1849.jpg
Current look of the bay!
http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/e4655273.jpg
The colour I want to do te engine covers which I think will really stand out in the engine bay again the black and beige!

I also received a pretty awesome early Christmas present :) a set of r1 bike carbs jetted for c20xe thanks to will f for those! Gave the manifold a clean and had a look at the hoses and have seen better days so to freshen it up I'm going to get some new ones red or black me thinks! Can't wait to get them fitted!

I hope you get on better than I did with mine mate. what are you doing ignition wise? please say Megajolt.

honie5
15-12-11, 09:16 PM
Bonus I remember you saying about them so thought I'd go give them a shout in te new year! Will just take my old ones! Erm not sure what management will f had them on his c20xe all running well and I've got everything with it like dizzy and management etc can't remember what it is will have to double check! But was all sound before so fingers crossed wont be any hassle like yours lol

Lewis.
15-12-11, 09:24 PM
if it's a dizzy you got then it'll probably be a cav one. if you can afford it, i'd reccomend investing in megajolt, then you have all the benefits of fully mappable ignition. send Tom Reid on here a PM, he'll explain it all.

honie5
15-12-11, 09:36 PM
Yer that's what I thought! That will be an option for maybe next year when I want abit more power again and start fiddling with it abit more but for now it'll do the job :) Just pray they have no issues when fitting them lol cheers dude will keep that in mind! What did you run with yours?

Bit of an update I've finally got round to sortin my paint for rocker and belt covers! I decided on a burnt red colour bit retro and goes really well with the beige and black on the car IMO! Spent a good couple of hours at the paint shop choosing what red actually didn't realise there could be that many but got there in the end! The red looks really bright in te pics but I assure you it is darker in real life think it was just the light on it! Going to leave them to dry for couple of days then get them fitted and will get more pics up!

The novas been rather neglected over the last few months due to helping my brother get his saloon painted and ready for pvs so those of you that are going will be able to see his there as he's lazy and not doing a project thread so look out for a blue saloon parked with mine. Anyway so I started polishing my plug cover but after about 2 days doing it I got bored so thought sod it I'll experiment with my plastic one. So sanded it flat and made it smooth then carbon wrapped it. I also did the scuttle cover whilst I was there that I made up.
http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x412/honie5/8b780f0c.jpg

checked it all fitted then wrapped it.

Sorry for bad pics off the iPhone but you get the idea.
The wrapping came out really good which I'm pleased about.
We then set to sorting my seats as you may remember it had White bucket seats last year which didn't go at all so sourced some new ones. Vectra half leather ones which I got off eBay although ended up costing me a fair bit more as I sent the misses as I was at work and long story short got pulled for going the wrong way down one way street even though it was having road works to eliminate and 3 cars had just gone down there before her but because I sent her I got the joy of paying the fine lol o well. Forgot to get pictures of the fabrication of them as it was late and just forgot. But there in and look stock and are proper comfy.
