i thought that but he said its a health 140, 160 mite be at the flywheel

its a c14se with a kent ast1 cam, 1200 dizzy, zx6r bike carbs, 4 branch and i think sportex system

It wont be 140bhp, even at the flywheel.. But it doesnt matter, we wont go into that.. Its how it feels on the road and im sure its a belter.

140 @ the wheels? seems a tad high to me maybe at the fly which would give you about 120?

Spudly

I wouldve thought the 140 will be @ the fly, but you never know cos Boggy is a fooking legend when it comes to carb tuning, he could probably get 100bhp from a block with no pistons in it lol

140bhp is a seriously good figure for a 1.4 8 valve thats had no fancy internal work :d

op if you don't mined me asking how much was the manifold and to get it jetted and set up and put on the rolling road

i made the manifold my self, and it was £80 for everything (setting up, jets, rollong road

what did you make the manifold out of

i used an inlet gasket and some 12mm plate, drilled the holes out and cut around the flange (would be much easier to get a laser but one) then used some tube from work.

Sounds fooking nice that does!
But it aint 140bhp. 140bhp at the wheels is 155-160hp at the fly which is 20xe kind of power.

Keith R's old top spec 1400 was "only" 120 iirc. And that was with headwork, decent cam etc iirc.

who needs power when you have that sound :p

I had that sound and cost me at bogg bros £1,500, how I miss my old SR :(

to compare i had my 1600 set-up by old man boggy 12 months ago and put out the same figure (140atw) on their rollers.

my spec, e16se, zx7r carbs, ported big valve head, bp300 with vernier, ashley 4 branch and system.

so i'd be chuffed if i was you fella :thumb:

holy crap that impressive, 140 from a 1.4, nice one

cant see 140@wheels, ive seen a 14se with ported head, newman sprint cam which is largest lift can fit before machining spring seats out, twin 40s, 4 branch and +20thou pistons and thats 113bhp @wheels and thats classed as good power. 140bhp+wheels id suspect would need to peak at 8-8.3k or so.

but tbh numbers are pub talk, if it drives well then thats the main thing.

how exactly did you see 140bhp at boggys they dont have a computer just the inacurate dial gauge things, i always take there figures with a pinch of salt but they know how to set stuff up always took mine somewere else for a power run after to check results

i saw 240bhp with mine on his rollers once but id never claim it had that, took it to another garage for a run a week later and made 196bhp which i was still very chuffed with considering what it had done to it

That's bloody awesome power if it's legit. I'd get it Dyno'd again somewhere else though.

Does sound nice though :)

i wouldnt be bothered if it was 110. he said its a good engine and it goes really well. thats all im bothered about.
+ when it was multi point it was doing 14 mpg now its doing alot better.
(yes i did change every sensor known to man and it didnt change a thing).

no lol it had a big silly green stuff one on it.
it sounded too good to take off :d
it didnt have an airflow meter so how would that make a diffrence ?
(i dont know sh*t about injection stuff, carbs ftw!)
