View Full Version : Box section rear weld in brace?
Ive been given some 2x2 box sectio to weld in the rear of my nova but ive onyl ever seen scaffold tube style what do you reckon yay or nay?

Nay.
I believe cylindrical tubing has more strength/distributes the load more evenly which is why it's used (not to mention it looks better).
Not for certain though, only going from what I've been told :)

i dont think the strength difference between tube and box section will make a monumental difference lol
i think the only difference would be looks not performance
The box sess will be strong than the turrets. So just weld it in. Just wont look as nice.

good enough for the autograss lot for strength (depending on SWG/wall thickness) just wont look that good if its your daily
^ Yep. Cages are fine when made from box. It just looks crap.
why weld it in? make some plates and bolt it in, if you dont like the shs then you can change it.
