is there any good standard cast manifolds for a baby xe engine? ie one off a certain model better flowing than others?

All the standard ones are pretty much identical.

^^ he's right. The only difference I've seen on the C16 and X16 manifold is the missing SAI take off on the C16. They are otherwise identical.

Also some have the EGR take off on the side some don't. But with regards to flow etc I would think they will all be pretty much the same

No, it's the secondary air injection as per my post above and it's at the front of the manifold between 2&3.
