With a 1.4 what? Not helping yourself here bud, but a 1.2 could be set up with 40's but why would you want to??

Why not put the manifold on a 1600 head and do it properly. The port shapes will be wrong, so you'll need to get the manifold matched to the head. Then it'll work properly. The 1400 head's chamber is smaller than the 1600's so your compression will be raised by a fair bit, and as it's been mentioned on here before - that's detonation territory. Ye won't be wantin' a sump full of ally bits will ye?

Plus the 1400's valves are smaller, so the gains from the 40's will be offset by the restriction in the head.

My Nova has a 1200 Block and Head with Twin 40s and Irmscher Airbox, 4-1 Manifold. Runs alright but ive been driving with a cracked head, so ive took it off And was wondering if i could put 1400 8v head off an astra. Would the inlet ports and manifold match to it? and importantly would it fit the block and not detinate!?
