View Full Version : intercooler mounting on Nova?
where can i mount one?
i have got one where the washer bottle is now but that is useless.
i cant fit the cooler behind the grill & i cant put it behind the radiator because of the hot air travelling through the rad.
please help, its a 1.7td intercooler from an astra. the engine i have got is 1.7td from cav. & i have the mahoosive 1.5d rad

through the front panel like this one... then up where the coil would be on a petrol model

i dont want to cut into my slam panel because it would weaken it too much. (where the boost pipe goes through the slam panel and i havent got room to the right of my radiator to fit the boost pipe through)

well if u don't wanna do any cutting then ur bolloxed then
it won't weaken it a lot. after all there are holes in it already. thats where ill be mounting mine when ever i get around to doing a turbo conversion.

under... but it fights with the oil cooler pipes etc on the way
take it, it was an arse to fit then?, thinking bout geting one but not sure how efficient it would be if it takes loads of turns round the chassis leg etc?

works fine bends are all smooth... temp stays between 10-15 deg over ambient under normal use... remeber most of the bends are on the inlet to the cooler... the outlet is much straighter
