just wondering if anyone had fitted a vxr turbo to a c20let and how hard it would be?

stud patterns on the flange are different, the c20let has 2 less studs as well

iirc the LEH turbo/manifold fits the Z20LET, and the Z20LET is pretty much the same as the C20LEt....

could be talking poo lol

You are correct, the VXR turbo can be retro fitted to the Z20LET.

No it doesn't fit.

No where near.

I assume you're referring to the VXR turbo and the C20LET?

i can make a new manifold no problem, just wondering about anything additional needed ei oil/water feeds, or because its more modern needing additional electrics?

Yes fella:)

Makes me laugh when people say they have a vxr turbo on a c20let, when it's blatantly a kkk.

A local lad swears his astra has one, and it blatantly doesn't lol

Does it come with a white hood and flaming torch? lol

Thought so :thumb: just clarifying to keep the info good.

Apparently sticking a vxr keyring on your key chain makes your car at least 10% faster init.

nobody's answered my question yet, providing i sort the manifold is it a case of plug and play (+remap)

Isnt that the case for many turbos then

VXR to Z20let is a straight swap they are basically the same turbo with a different compressor wheel spec.

VXR to c20let will not fit they are completely different - both the c20let, z20let and vxr use a kkk (borg warner) turbo.

The c20let is a K16 the Z's are a K04 with different dash numbers to signify whether they are astra sri/gsi or vxr.

All 3 turbochargers use integrated exhaust manifolds meaning the exhaust manifold is part of the turbine housing so you cant simply make an exhaust manifold as you have suggested.

The long and short of it is no a vxr turbo will not fit a c20let unless you heavily modify it and for what its worth a hybrid K16 would see you up to and probably just beyond 300hp anyway. Or if your really keen a ball bearing turbo will take you beyond that. The state of tune of your engine etc would obviously have to be altered too.

thank you very VERY much, brilliant explanation. iv seen the hybrid on TT..... comes to 940, and you have to give them you old 1!!!!!

I work for universal turbos - our hybrids arnt as expensive as that, but price depends on what you want and what you start with. The reason turbo companies ask for your old one is because it's sometimes difficult to get old good core ESP when you consider the age of the k16 on the let. Also not all hybrids will be the same spec so it's difficult to keep an 'on the shelf option' as different people want different things.
