pierberg carb stripping

gonna strip the carb down & give it a clean either tonight or over the weekend as car isn't running right an can't see what else it could be,
it's the 1.4sr carb 2e3
what are the main things i need to look out for when doin it?

just look out for dirt really

just split the top and bottom of the carb open
take out and clean jets , could allways take out the venturis and clean them too
check the enrichment and accerator pump work
thats about it really

had a quick look looks like the 2nd choke isn't opening can anyone do a idiots quide for sorting this as i can't find my haynes bible

the second choke will only operate past half throttle and its vacumn operated
there a plastic tab which holds it shut under half way

so open the throttle fully and hold it there with something

then disconnect the vacumn for second choke to the carb and then suck the pipe. the second choke should open as you suck
if it dont then you have a problem with either a dodgy diaphram or a sticking throttle plate

lube it all up with some wd40
