Bulb

This might not be very technical but where on earth is the bulb hehind the dash that lights up the heater dials etc just abova the head unit? (its a mk2).

you have got to get at them behind the air vents that are above them i think there are two bulbs one for each controler

theres a bit in the old haynes manual about it, i saw it last nite, aint got it with me now tho cos im at wrk, ave a look if u ave one

withe the middle 1 just pull the knob hard and itl come off, the left 1 cant b done this way!!

I have now replaced them.

I took the surround off around the speedo/rev counter then the bit that holds the two centre fans. I found 2 bulbs, 1 on the left hand side and 1 on the right hand side.

For some reason though the bulbs turn on whenever the ignition is turned on. Anyone know why this is? I thought they should only come on when i turn the side lights or headligfhts on?

duno bout the part y they turn on with ignition m8 but u cud wire some more bulb holders behind the left and right controls and use 5 green bulbs! :lol: :lol: this is what i done and it looks ace! real bright at night!
