hi all
looking for a little advice!
last week i brought a second hand headunit in an auction on ebay. revieved the unit on thursday and fitted it saturday. the headunit didnt read cd's and gave an error message in my car. have repoted this to ebay (item not as described) and the seller has said to send the item back and if it works in his car (like it apparently did) he will refund me! cant see it working in his car as it does'nt in mine, so where do i stand?? will i get my money back?
cheers
Most likely a typo... Usual thing is to return it to seller and they will verify its no longer working or take pics of damage etc if you've ****ted it.

not a typo! lol.
Well him refunding you if it works makes 0 sense, him not refunding you and sending it back to you if it works, does.
why would he refund you if it works is what mk is getting at (i assume)

Think he means the seller will refund if he tries it in his car and gets the error.
Think he means the seller will refund if he tries it in his car and gets the error.
or "he wont refund" taking the tone of the rest of the paragraph
i had similar, bought a stereo and it kept popping fuses, bothe in 2 cars and on a test bed, the guy said i was lieing, opened a dispute, told him id send it back but i wasnt paying postage and gavehim a week to collect. also added that if it wasnt collected in a week id charge him storage and handling fees of £10 a day - he told me to keep the stereo and paypal refunded me lol

That's basically saying "if you send it back and it's working in my car, and you haven't foobard it, then i'll keep it, use it and you can have your money back".

Trouble is they ALWAYS favour the buyer.
I sold a game a couple of years ago just before christmas, left my house working perfectly, turned up at his broke. Somehow the disc got damaged but the case itself didn't. Christ knows how that works. But Paypal sided with said buyer so I lost out and ended up having a knackered game sent back to me.
