Okay, this may probably result in lots of -ve repping but I felt a major rant coming on.

I may be the only gay PNGer (which may be a shock to the Eastern crowd who saw me last week but perhaps my lack of mechanical nous gave it away) on here, which I'm kinda glad about, because I really have nothing in common with other gays it seems. They are so freaking shallow and all they seem to go on about is Rihanna or what they can stick up their jacksies ....People have gone "are you sure you're gay" because I'm into cars instead of sh1tty pop music etc. I have queeny moments and some femme interests (I spend too much time in the kitchen), sure, but that's it. (oh BTW everyone's safe, I have an other half thanks ;) )

I don't really like to associate with other gay guys because they all seem so shallow. I only have 1 or 2 gay friends. I'd sooner hang out with lads and talk about cars than sit with a bunch of anorexic bitchy queens and gush about how utterly fabulous sodding Rihanna is.

Gay pride London, May be over rated and boring as hell, But what you don't seem to recognise is why there is a pride and just how much the initial marches and riots did to uphold your right's as a gay man. If it wasn't for those marches and people standing up for what they believed in Homosexuality would still be illegal. (if you get a second do a bit or research on the stonewall riots)

Pride wasn't always about fun and games, It isn't about shouting we're gay get over it, It was more and still is about showing a united front with a spirit of acceptance throughout all communities. Remember if it wasn't for these people you'd be arrested and often tortured by the police for fun for even mentioning you were gay.

We've come a long way.

If it wasn't for the overtly effeminate men (like your Freddy Mercuries, Your Kenny Everetts) we wouldn't be as accepted.

British comedy and television thrived on these people as a breath of fresh air, As a nation these people were brought into families homes. The coming out of these "camp bitchy queens" are what opened the world's eyes to the fact gay men were not just men but freaking fabulous, funny and most of all HUMAN!
We lost a lot of greats to Aids in the early 90's and that showed the world that gay men weren't super human and evil, It showed we all bled the same and felt the same pain and were just people.

We have a short history that started in disaster and a complete lack of human rights and seems to be edging in the right direction. I doubt either of us will see total acceptance in our lifetime. But we're on the right path.

In a round about way, The world is slowly stopping tarnishing all gays with a brush. maybe you should do the same....

Also maybe you should stop tarnishing heterosexuals with the neg rep brush... Acceptance is a two way street.

well round here 'one of the lads' (and i mean a proper wekend wreckhead) came out, he'd run a few of the pubs in the last decade or so aswell. he recently took over one of the most popular pubs in my town but people wouldnt go in because it was now a 'gay club'
