For £23, I imagine crap.
I could be wrong, FYI, they make a horrendous mess, goes everywhere, from the crack of your ****, so inside your toes.
Horrible blasting shells.

There's not much to a sand blaster and I find the main thing that effects the performance is the size of the air compressor used.

i do this myself and you need a decent sized compressor other wise i wouldnt bother
ok...im tempted...since i could do it at work with our big compressor
Thowing the sand would be better than that thing, come accross to mine at the weekend, I'll show you what mine does,

well i went and bought it. lol
now...what kind of sand is best to ling in in? ive been told beach sand is fine, also seen people using sandpit sand.
should be here next week...got MANY things i want to try it on
no!!!!!!!!!! has to be dry sand, get sharp sand or also called silica sand from b+q, it comes in sealed polly bags, wet sand wont work well if at all.
i gathered it had to be dry sand. lol cornwall does have very fine sand too. but ill have look in b&q first
kiln dried sand (used on block paving) is the stuff.. it takes paint off, but not steel... it is a bit harsh on ally though, and leaves a rough surface.
I got one from Lidl. Came with loads of blasting medai too. it's crap.

As with alot of things...you get what you pay for. 90psi isnt really high enough pressure for doing a good job of sand blasting, IMO.
I'm not sure the specs on mine. Compressor shifts enough cfm too, it's just as I say crap. lol

for 25quid its worth a try

my blaster runs at 20-50 psi on hard media and sand and upto 120 on soda only,
pressure is only part of the story, nozzles, pot size, metering valve also come into play,
currently I use 40% archifine and 60% soda mix at 50 psi with cracking results from a 40kg pot
well, i had a quick play with it on one of my 1300 cam covers, the inside is looking like new. ill get some pics tomorrow.
Think i need to get some decent kiln dried sand though. play sand is a bit...cloggy lol
checked the compressor too...its at 90psi. so all in all, if i can just sort the slight clogging issue...this didnt seem like a bad purchase for what i paid

come and do my shell lol
"for sale nice reconed pistons and rods ;)"
lol
And you did that with the ebay sand blaster?
And you did that with the ebay sand blaster?
yes...with dodgy playsand from B&Q on a 90psi line
for 25quid...im chuffed to bits. need to buy kiln dried sand since the oven baked sand i made the other night is almost gone. and the rest is wet.
need to get a pile of all the stuff i need to do now, i think wheels are my next attempt. not sure if sand will destroy my avanti's which are magnesium alloy. the others ill have a go on happily though.
and i recon it could be a small money earner too

whats the quality of the hoses/nozzle etc like bubba ?
300psi rated hose. the nozzle has a 6 on it...im guessing thats the sizing of it. hardened steel or something. get a spare too. need to make a blasting box...them glass beads dont half sting as they bounce back onto you
might purchase one then, could be handy as im planning to refurb the vectra wheels before they go back on
ive not tried it on wheels yet...i need to get proper sand first. that wont clog up the hose. possibly tuesday or wednesdays challenge

im thinking it might be worth buying beads next time, got this bag free from a company we supply (it fell on the back of the lorry) guna see what they do with them once they used them, might just sweepthem up and bin them so might say give them tenner a bag. got to make a box to do it in though. it makes a bloody awful mess :(
