Oil type and amount, 1.2 carb.

As per title, what is the preferred oil type for a 1.2 carb, and how much of it? (Don't have a Haynes for the car or access to Data anymore :( )

buy a 5l can of 15w-50 engine oil. the genuine gm stuff is fairly cheap.

then you have some spare for topping up.

10w40 is all we use at work on vauxhall 8v new and old 3.5 - 4.0 litre would of thought can have a look in the tech book tomorrow if needed

Cheers guys. Might just pop into my local Vauxhall tommorow (assuming they would have the Data on a G reg Nova?)

Would they sell the Oil and filter too so I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, or would it be a Motorfactors trip

oil and filter will be the same and a newer 8v motorfactor is just as good but cheaper and as for the amount if you put in 3 litres and start add as needed

Gonna just pop into Vauxhall tomorrow anyway as the local dealer is near where I work, might aswell get the exact figure for records :)

acording to auto data it takes 3 litres of 10w40
