As it looks like im not going to be able to get a set of sr steels anytime soon im going to miss that idea for now and go for the coilovers first.

Im not going to be taking it to trackdays or anything like that and its only a 1.2 so if i ever change the engine i will upgrade then so nothing like that to worry about its just to get the car nice and low and get a half decent ride from.

Must be able to drop to atleast 90m all round have been looking at FK but iirc i dont think iv read anything positive about them lol

Any ideas or previous experience/recomendations?

Fleabay returned no result and their website doesn't have a section for vauxhall

Have you bought a set or just know of other people buying them and were any for a nova?

their corsa/nova kits aren't advertised on the uk ebay, try the Belgium or Germany version

About £150, so about the same price as the cheap ones you get on ebay UK.

They only go down to 70m not going to be enough and would prefer to stick with buying from this country then theres less chance of them going missing on the way here lol

how many times, dont buy cheap

no point, you will buy cheap then buy the proper ones when the cheap ones hit the bin after 200miles

Probably will get negged for saying it, but if you want cheap lows without a concern for performance or serious handling. Just get the cheapies from ebay. Cheapest proper low you will get unless you come across some bargain priced used ones.

It's better to just get semi-decent ones though as they won't break halfway down the line.

Thats fine if you have the money to buy 500-600 coilovers

They usually arrive before 48 hours of ordering so even quicker than UK delivery

you wont get a cheap coil over drop lower then 70mm,

i had to pay £400 for std ones then an extra £40 to have shorter bodys and springs to drop 100mm to 130mm

Mieran

go 100+ without the helper spring

If your not doing track days, coilovers are not really needed. Shocks and springs will suit. Get some -90mm ones??

not sure how low i want it yet tho thats why i wanted to go for coilovers because when its on the steels its going to be stupidly low and i may need to rais it up abit if i got a long journey or something

takes 30mins to change all 4 springs on a nova hardly any longer than adjusting coilovers

Pistol Pete
06-02-11, 10:18 PM
Ok, but you will not get adjustable coilovers cheap. Well, you might but the ride and build quality will be shocking.

AdamK

Mieran

on a slammed car ride is never going to be good so might as well save your self some money and go for cheaper alternative

btw if u get gaz get short bodied ones

AdamK
06-02-11, 10:25 PM
True but buying from gaz you know well hope lol its going to be top quality and if i did buy cheap ones and they broke id end up buying gaz or spax anyway so i supose it makes sense just to buy the expensive ones now just take more time saving lol

spax rsx. or gaz with rear shocks and springs. dont want the rear too stiff without turrets.
