View Full Version : New daily (Jap content)
Well my Corsa XE finally sold yesterday, was sad to see it go as its been fairly reliable and cheap to run. Was indecisive about being sensible and buying a diesel or getting something thats still fun.
Decided not to be sensible as usual and have just put a deposit on this. Just waiting for the private plate to come off next week and then I can collect it.

Nice! Pre facelift so what year is it?? Looks clean enough. What you got planned for it. Would love one some day!
Most of the best upgrades have gone. Got bluetooth handsfree, front fogs (£800 dealer option!!), poly engine mounts, Ferredo pads, HIDs.
Used to have uprated inlet and exhaust manifolds, Gruppe M intake, Spoon B pipe, K100 and made 247bhp but they were all sold seperately.

Its a 2002. Has a couple of car park dings but to be expected on an 8/9 year old car.
Planning to fit Gruppe M induction, B pipe and then leave it alone as don't want to mess too much with it but as always these things seem to get out of control

As per somebody else......
Mine's awaiting fitment now!
Vtec power is she a keeper?
Good skills, used to work for a Honda maindealers a few years back, awesome cars and properly good to drive which is unusual for a car so performance oriented out of the box, driven plenty, a couple in anger and would definately own one myself given the opportunity:thumb:
Lovely car mate one of my dads mates has got a supercharged one sounds the dogs danglies have to be in red with white rims for me tho:d

Nice, I prefer the earlier ones.
If you haven't already...
www.civictype-r.co.uk
www.type-r-owners.co.uk (my mate owns this one)
Both good sites for info and second hand bargains.
Tegiwa do a Gruppe M copy air box.
Quite good.
Exchange rate now dictates an new Gruppe M from Japan is £700+
Spoon B Pipe is very good, as is the DC5 B-pipe upgrade.
If i were you, to improve feel a little, i'd fit some ES motor mount inserts.

Will never own another red car as long as I live lol

That is the Early one (EP3 at least)
Or do you mean EK9?
In which case, this is actually a better car all round.
EK9 is a whole lot of hype IMHO!

I got it off civictype-r.co.uk.
There is a Gruppe M on there at the moment for £325 near where i'm collecting the car from so tempted!! lol
It has the ES mount inserts already.
Cheers for the info Stoo.
£325 is good for a used one...

Car needs two front tyres soon so should really spend the money on them........... lol
Will never own another red car as long as I live lol
Bad experience? lol
As a daily, they are a harsh ride and have lots of noise inside. As something to be driven hard on occasions, although being white torquey, still much of a let down.
However, I'd still probably have one!

I think it's really comfy compared to my Corsa so that's all good in my books.
Test drove a mk4 Astra Gsi and wasnt as impressed as I was with this!
Do not buy RE040s!!!!!!
Think that's what is has on now and really wanted a full set of matching Tyres as I'm sad like that.

I disagree completely.
Quite a compliant and smooth ride considering it's pedigree for a daily.
Also quite quiet in standard trim.
Also, they are far from torquey!!!

Absolutely Shiite mate!
Got them on the DC5 at the moment and they are utter cat wannk!

Really?! I've not driven a GSI in all fairness. As much as vie always slated ep3s, there is something about them. I think the combination of being held in place by the bucket seats, and the great handling is what makes the ep3. Just needs the umph of a turbo, and not all that v-tec nonsense.
My other 2 cars have turbos though, wanted something semi sensible.
Mr2 turbo, now theres an epicly quick car!
One of the best colours for an ep3 I might add :)
