I can only comment on my cars, I have had my Nova Sport and Rover Vitesse at both strips, plenty of other people running far more power;) .
Santa Pod is better due to stickier surface, but it also depends on what you're running, definitely suits low power FWD cars over York where grip is important in my limited experience
The Nova Sport is quicker at SP, sticky track better hook off the line, (16.6s SP with 93hp) (17.3 York with 93 HP and 102HP:cry: ,i.e. saw no improvement with upping the power, struggles to put the power down in 1st gear... grip) had @ 3 attempts to improve at York, using slicks and low pressures and still no improvement.... might just be the driverlol
I have bough a set of Sticky Yokos to have another go at York this year, and will get her RR'd prior to her next visit;)
My SD1 Vitesse V8 (RWD) on the other hand bogs on the line at SP and is quicker at York as I can launch better i.e. doesn't bog on the line, mind the Vitesse has a tall 1st gear @ 45mph at redline, no fancy launch control on my carslol (15.8s at York) (16.3s at SP) on Goodyear F1's
Santa Pod is also a better venue, Yorkdragway would benefit from some refurbishment, but it is my nearest strip;)

I have always thought that Santa pod would be good for launching due to the glue but surly it will slow you down to:confused: :tard:
Santa pod is easily the best strip in UK for times. Shame its such a sh!thole

pics of vitesse? lol. always liked them, have always wanted to build 1 with a small block chevy engine or something, like that 1 that clarkson raced against vicky butler hendersons 20 16v nova years ago on some program. i never been york but me and most of my mate have raced at pod and the surface is good, 1 of my dads mates races in essex on a old airfield but cant remember the name, he said its just tarmac, would that make much differance to times over somewere like pod?

I think its the pros and cons of what you want people do favour pod over york due to the track prep etc but york is cheaper from what I understand its all down to preference get yourself to both and do some scientific tests :thumb:
