my mate has just put a1.8 engine in his 1.6 astra complete with harnes and ecu but did not get the key is there any way round this to get it running its from a2001 model cheers:thumb:

new ecu and chip key is the only way

In theory yes.

If you can get the ecu open, and get a component layout diagram, as in essence you could reprogram the ecu to thinking it is "seeing" the chip.

That how they do the 106 and 205 gti ones.

get it blown i had a couple of saxo ones and tigra ecu's blown/unlocked from a guy in the midlands only charges £20
