Depends, been a few around that are modified for that money.

Gary wants £1800 for his let, minus turbo/ecu etc.. but then thats a few thousand mile old engine with steel rods, omegas, zlet pump, worked head etc.... so cheap compared to the build cost.

I agree with jonlem you get what you pay for plus it's more likely gonna need a rebuild,at that price

Agreed with above.

£1000 will see a running engine from a car.

Then you need to pick a gearbox to mangle.

Thing is,now most of the engines are well tired,i would personally buy one that needed work for a bit less.
Then have a nice fresh engine,+.5 bore and away you go.

Well easy to say that but 4 pistons with rings is £450 so you have just blown half of your budget on that.

There are good engines out there, sadly there are far more rubbish ones so just be careful if your buying a rebuilt one as some peoples idea of a rebuilt engine is a cometic gasket and a painted block.

mine was £800 with an 2wd converted f28 but that was mates rates and it had just been rebuilt, after selling my xe cams carbs fanimolds etc i made a £400 profit on the swap (came with all the phase 3 kit and the intercooler)
