I have been cracking on with the Vovo these last couple of weeks. Stripped the gearbox, diff, rear axle, leaves, tank etc off it (doing one third at a time) and have been busying myself removing the underseal, I have a million and one things to do to this car in the next 3/4 months as that is when I want to start using it again.

I had a night off last night, due to the match, and tonight I just haven't bothered myself to do anything on it as I think I got done by a talivan this afternoon! :(

36/7 in a 30. I assumed it was a 40mph zone, dual carrigeway. The presence of the scamera van has me thinking otherwise though. So now I am feeling sorry for myself and the last thing I want to do is lie on my back gettign covered in 27 year old underseal!

ASW rant over. :( lol

Just checked online, and it is definitley a 30 zone. It's my fault tbh, I rarely take not of the limits on 'weird' roads, and just go with the flow of traffic.

I had a clean licence for ages, then I was banned, that came off, two weeks later I got a TS10, now that hasn't long left to run and I'm gonna have a friggin SP30 by the look of it.

I know speedos read over, and the tw@t manning the gun may have been a human being and allowed 2/3 mph leeway, but I don't fancy my chances.

I hope I am offered the chance of one of those speed awareness courses. Good job I wasn't in the other car, a welded diff AND speed?! I am the anti-christ. :roll: lol

You can appeal up to and including 37mph.
I got stopped doing 36 in December and the officer said "ive absolutely no intention of prosecuting you for it" I just got breathalysed instead and let on my way. So you may be ok

L14MNP
02-02-11, 09:17 PM
Wish it had been 5-0 mate. They wouldn't have stopped me in the first place! lol

The appeal sounds intersting, what's that based on, inaccuracy of speedo and their equipment? I guess I have to be a dick and ask for calibration certificates etc?

I bet if you stayed in one lane they wouldn't even have breathalysed you! Or was this in 'ull? Road Wars love to do that. lol

It was 11.30 am on a friday before xmas.Its an area where its very easy to think your doing the limit when infact your speeding.
Was in Scarborough lol
The appeal is based on the fact that 10% add 3/4mph i think it is.

Its within 28days you need to receive a NIP.

You will be ok. Its 10%+2mph

30=35
40=46
50=57
60=68
70=79

3 points & £60 if its under 20mph above the speed limit

ie 49mph in a 30mph = 3 points,
50mph+ in a 30mph = court.

You will be ok.

If there was a fair few people speeding that day, they will up it. Do a cut off at 37 for example, as they cant prosecute everyone.

You might be lucky anyway. I was in a rush once doing just over 50 in a 40 zone. And i noticed the van, which parks there at least once every fortnight. I slammed my breaks on a gooden and turnout off quickly, as they can't give readings of a car that isn't approaching them dead on, for obvious reasons.

Is that not 25+mph over and you're going to court? I got done at 94.04 on a motorway and the guy told me I'd have been in court at 95mph.

Jack
03-02-11, 12:01 PM
...and I've been hit at 96.3mph on the M5 but only got an SP50, 3 points and £60 fine. So it seems it varies.

Cheers lads.

I thought it was 14 days for a camera van, with no NIP? I have only ever been done by the Police before though, and that is 28 days and NIP.

Jack, the Samaritans do have a sign on the Wear bridge too.

I think I got done by a talivan this afternoon! :(

Was in the same boat late last year, and the wife in Jan this year.

We both knew we were going over the limit by 6-7MPH and were waiting for the letter from the Old Bill in the post.

Neither of us got anything. So, wait 14days and see what happens. :thumb:

28 days on that is different (think it's issue of the penalty?) as your NIP is served at the roadside, verbally. They actually have to say something along the lines of "I intend to prosecute you for this action" or "This will be reported and taken further" etc, otherwise they have 14 days.

As Mark says, it's a 12 door, it's a facelifted one too. Mine's older/loads rarer and I much prefer the skinny bumpers etc. His isn't slammed, welded and skidded - the three reasons to own one! lol
