on the instructions it says:

Black wire-Positive

Red wire-Negative

Blue wire-Earth

now i am not the brightest of people, so to avoid causing a massive FAIL i am asking the question on here. do these connect straight to the two terminals on my coil pack? obviously + and -. i didnt know if the coil pack had to be dismantled and these wires connected internally? help much appreciated.

if i remember i will take a couple of pics and upload them tomorrow if that helps, cheers

Yes they just go straight to the terminals, have you got a coil pack specific rev limiter though...?

what do you mean?

Omex sell different versions of the limiter specific to single coil, twin coil, and coilpack

right, aah this could be a problem. my nova is running the cav setup on carbs so which would this be?

Cav 1.6 dizzy...?! That would be single coil :thumb:

that would be the one, what would happen if i connected it up an it was the wrong type, would it just not work or would it effect or damage the coil?

the limiter works by cutting the spark to the engine, so the operation varies on how the spark is given to the engine (twin coil, single coil etc) so I doubt it would damage anything, just wouldn't function properly

looked on the instructions and it says that it works with different ignition types, confused :S

I would presume it would work universally then.

As said, give it a try.

 It worked yesterday, all it was was the instruction manual showing the single and twin coil, you've probably got them anyway.

Happened with mine, means you've got the wires the wrong way around :)

Also reset the omex (says how to in the manual) before you try using it.

tried that, but the led's dont light up?

MK1_Ben

LED's should light up regardless of the way the wires are :\

Definitely wiring it into the coil correct? and are you sure you have the correct Omex for your engine?

sorted it, swapped the wires round and it worked. its ace, you get some big flames and bangs out the back. unfortunately i managed to snap the LED off by accident so im gonna have to solder it back on, ill put pics up on my WIP when i get time.

I nearly burst my ear drums at first when I was setting it up, I took it down to the minimum limit (3000) and gave it a rev and it just went wild lol

Don't really like it there buddy :)

I have mine inside the glovebox, with the switch itself in the steering wheel, nice and discreet and stops the sun visor looking like a lumpy pillow.
