Hi all I’m currently rebuilding a c16xe engine which currently has the standard pot type flywheel.

I have acquired a flat type flywheel off a c14nz and have been given a clutch plate (from Philip off here cheers mate). He said it makes a huge difference.

Now i need to know what cover plate do i need? I'm bit annoyed with myself really as i bought a brand new clutch kit for the pot type and it is currently fitted thus i can't take it back to the shop as I’ve chucked the box.

So really what cover plate do I need as I thought I could use the current one with a 8v flywheel. Also will my new release bearing work with the 8v fly?

Cheers. :)

Release bearing is the same. Cover plate for a c14nz or whatever will be fine, Just make sure the friction plate is the biggest one (I cant remember, but theres a few sizes, fills most of the fly').

Or a X14XE clutch.

It will make a big difference, Going from my 1.4 corsa to 1.6 was a big change on a standard car (1.4's have flat flys)
