hi folks not sure if this is the right section, but I am looking for some info on which gearbox can be fitted to a let for rwd application? Thanks for any help

I think its either a manta b gearbox or a ford with a bellhousing adaptor

yeh gareth is correct.

the manta gearbox are rare as fook, and only came on the 1.8 models (the engine looks similiar to a 2.0 8v)

and you can use a type 9 with a bell housing from SBD or a few other places.

See I was wondering about the omega or carlton box. The reason was asking my dad is building a hot rod and looking for engine he could go for that not to hard to run.

If he's building a hotrod, Ford Type E (2000E) with a bellhousing adapter. You only need two gears, and there are gear kits out there specially for the job.
Similar for the Type 9 (5 speed).

There is feck all for the GM gearbox, other than some very expensive kits for the 5 speed Getrag as used in the Manta, and Carlton.
