tapits noisey 2.0l red top

please can someone advise me i just bought a GTE with red top engine the person i bought it of has changed the the oil pump,pick up,and sump but its a little noisey iv just changed from escorts to nova so a little advice please

They are common to have hydraulic lifters that tap but i would be suspicious if the oil pump and pick up has been changed that the engine may have more damage.

like what the car hasnt been actually run since 2009 sometime and it was moved around workshop time to time could that be suspected sticky tapits

It will be the hydraulic lifters I had a cav gsi and when I got it they tapped for a few mins then stopped I parked it up for 2 years and the tapping never went away and there was no wear on the camshafts. I reckon the oil pump etc was changed as they thought the lifters weren't getting oil. I think you can open the lifters to clean them.
