Why would you want wheels that look like they're made of carbon fibre though? same mindset as those guys with flocked wheels too.
Think I'm gonna coat my spare alloys in papermache and paint them brown to look like they're made from wood :D

Is it just my eyes or is that air bubbles in the vinyl
My bad, never realised they were vinyl. I never read the description, I was just flicking through ebay and came accross them.:roll:

Ah I see, I thought you knew they were vinyl'd haha :)
Nonetheless, I'd love to see carbonfibre wheels hold the pressure of a tyre and the weight of the car :)

I always thought carbon fibre was stronger than steel to degree

Same here, they use carbon fibre wheels on some race cars don't they as they are lighter and stronger etc?
Carbon wheels have been around for years now, I remember them in fast car uk, and the last time I bought an issue was over 4 years ago now. They were 3k+ a wheel
The new Ultimate Aero has carbon fibre wheels. It says they weigh 6KG each!

Well I never, you learn something new every-day :)
Is there any reason they aren't mass used as of yet in motorsport? When I was doing some work up at MIRA last year even the Touring cars stick to magnesium wheels

I would guess because they are proberly too expensive. lollol
Here you go, $10,000 - $12,000 a set :eek::eek::eek:

I'm not sure if I could trust a full carbon wheel. But a carbon insert with and aluminium barrel, now that's a different kettle of fish.
Very expensive/difficult to make with little gains, at 6kg per wheel magnesium alloys would be close I think

if you read the link, the full carbon fibre ones only weigh 2.76KG each which is pretty damn light, but very very expensive.
My RFX's are only 6.5kg a rim. The Cromodoras are about 6kg a rim.
fook kerbing one of those carbon wheels, not as if you can fanny it up with some filler and rattle cans..

To be fair though, if you can afford to buy these type of wheels you can afford to replace/repair them....
