^same as above, gixxers are probably the nicest looking bikes around. In blue+white or Rizla decal kits.

Nonetheless, black and yellow bikes always look good, nice buy :D

i won a 97 fireblade on ebay for 890 and sorted a few niggles but i tried it and couldnt get used to the twitchy front end so i put it up for swaps on swapz website and got offered this,
it doesnt need nothing really but im planning a candy green paint with green pinstrpied gloss black wheels with carbon gsxr decals kinda like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3TIkRyDs10
it is taxed and tested for a few month,
has a tre fitted(timing retarder in first 3 gears),
carbon can,titanium brake hoses,
ebc pro discs and green stuff pads
4% cut maxxis tyres
led indicators and loads of spares inc seat pod, rear cowling, new iridium screen and standard can for mot:thumb:

Very nice indeedy, i had a plan once, i did my bike theory and was then going to do a DAS and get myself a gixer600 but things happen, theory ran out, and decided i couldn't really afford to spend £500+ on the test.
To be fair i have kids and a bike would just be a weekend toy that the kids are away.
Still have fond memories of my ickle TZR 125...:)

i had slight expectation issues like i thought it may be a little slow being a 600 but i really am surprised:eek:
i really do like it

I'm not a bike lover really but have mates who are, one has a gsxr 1000 which is turbo'd, bloody mental tbh.

Looks nice in yellow it's a nice change to the usual blue and white srads I tend to see.

Looks great, had planned on getting my bike licence this year but after 4 years off the road i need to sort the nova out first. Maybe next year....

Think it was going to cost about 5/600 quid to do plus easily £1000 for helmet/power ranger outfit etc.

davidfox280585

yes stevie it is a dear doo,
when i got started cost me
£1100 damaged z1000
£600 z1000 repair parts
£550 test and theory etc
£30 used helmet:(
£50 used leathers
£20 used boots
£40 cheap gloves
£30 mot
£45 tax
£175 insurance deposit

It is mate, sadly I don't see him that often now but it was rolling roaded at 350bhp at the back wheel, he spent about £5000 on the engine rebuild  iirc I think he said it was running water injection if thats right though I'm not up on this bike gubbins.

Found a site that he was looking at before his conversion >LINK (http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/gsxrturbo.htm)<

Also his looks like this.

no it didnt,he had it space framed at z cars and had custom wheelie bars made,
was running a s2 rs turbo front mount custom bonnet and windscreen,4 scorpion exhausts out rear, rsv mille seat pods as air scoops to feed the rad,r1 led rear top light,zx12 mirrors
3 minilites with sierra lsd axle, custom wide arches 4 point harnesses, discs all round with front line lock for burnouts

and by did that engine warm you up as it was pushed right against your leg and when i went n it we were down a long a road near my house and beleive me it made you grin at the acceleration,it only did around 120mph flatout but it got there quick
see if i can get a link, the guy who bought it had it in retro rides and took all the claim for it:confused:

this was the first bug he built, thats where i worked he was my workmate, this one was the original r1 engined one,we went to york in it and he bust the gear linkage
this led to the busa build
my mate is called lee stevenson and built both bugs, anyone who claims to have built either are liars lol as i was inhis garage s few times during the builds

Yeah I reckoned on about 3k all in after the test . But I think it would have to be new safety gear from the start as even a slow crash would sting a bit and I wouldn't fancy putting my faith in second hand stuff like a helmet, as surely the smallest of cracks from dropping it etc would mess up the effectiveness of it.

That and I imagine you sweat like a coont in leathers, helmet and boots and I would not like the idea of wearing someone elses! lol

I think he said it was running water injection if thats right though I'm not up on this bike gubbins.

Water injection is a turbo thing, mist of water is sprayed in with the fuel, helps stop it igniting off of the hot compressed charge or hotspots in the engine etc, basically makes it a higher RON, so you can advance timing further and run more boooost :) Also steam cleans your pistons! lol

Loving the pictures, will he be at Melbourne (York Dragway) this year at all? I'd like to see this is action

So is there a full build thread for it then which does get stolen by someone else's credit.

Opinion is divided I believe lol That's the theory though, that's as much as I know tbh, not really read into it too much, that's for after I have a turbo motor (that doesn't burn oil by design)

Mine is being a fooking arsehole atm! It's actually the evil heart of a bubble/egg, so needs to be pulled out and ceremonially burned to release it's curse on my poor nova.

Crack that egg and pull the j(y)oke out. Rebuild it ;)

I've had way too many bikes.

900's

1100's

Best bike i ever had was a K4 Gsxr 600. Bought from new.

Used it as daily transport( didn't own a car ) and instructing idiots how to ride at the weekend. It did it all. 30mph all day instructing, then 160mph on the way home.

I could ride a 600 faster than a 1000 everyday.

Dave, how do you find so many bargains ???

:)

I'm definately a Gsxr kinda guy. Had a couple and loved em.

I'm definately not an R6 kinda guy, had one. It was feckin horrible to ride.

Dodgy front wheel size, it was ok if you were going balls out everywhere, horrid when riding sensible. Sold the R6 to fund a Florida trip. Best thing i ever did.
