View Full Version : 1998 Combo 20xe Van

Some of you may know this from track days etc - its a low mileage van (87k) and was a LPG 1.4 SPI.

I fitted a 20xe from a 1989 Cav Gsi in 2005 and have been using it ever since. I used brand new Chris Astley mounts, shafts and hubs etc.

The engine had approx 130k on it and I have done around 30k since - but have freshened it up in 2007 with shells and cambelt, water pump and rollers.

Its one of the best and quietest xe's I have owned and pulls like an absolute train.

I have fitted a MINT pair of great Sri 130 Recaro seats and steering wheel and a set of OZ tourismos 16" with NEW 195 45 16" tyres

FULL custom stainless 2.25" exhaust system - really quiet!

Just fitted brand new disks and pads (24x256 disks off the Cav)

Bodywork is excellent, except for the stupid roof clam, which has seen better days - no rust on doors, rear or sills - if you changed the roof, it would be awesome.

It has a Witter tow bar and can tow anything you throw at it! lol The Combo can carry/tow up to 1860kg, so it will easily handle a Nova etc

It has 10 months MOT and 5 months tax

I wont take less than £750 as it would break for more than that.

Probably on my pb account - need anything specific?

There is actually a slight bubble of rust on the seam by the fr door - but its minor - didnt even see it until today!

It's typical. I was looking for a combo to xe before Xmas. Now ive got no roo for another vehicle :(

I'm sure it will be gone in no time, I'd of picked it up tomorrow if I was in the position to enable me to do so.

Will get pics tomorrow Mark - its priced to sell, I wont accept offers. I couldve put it up for £900 and been waiting for a few weeks I suppose...

I am open to a p/x with a diesel or estate etc - reason I am selling is that it costs me £11.50 to get it over the bridge, so I need to replace it for a tow car, rather than a van!

Will, if its anything like dartford there is a way to get it classified as a personal vehicle not used for commercial uses/transporting goods kinda thing, mate had similar issues with a Mk1 VW caddy.
