Sadly no vauxhall parts likely to be fitted, but im sure this will interest most.
This has been on the cards for years, but even took ages to be in a position to order it, and then when I did last april, a change in the manufacturers management ended up causing an 8month delay.
Picked it up Saturday, thanks to the massive bonus of borrowing a van/trailer from the father-in-law which saved on hiring a van and trying to squeeze the chassis and all the panels in one space.

Defo need to clear more space in the single garage, I've still got lots of junk from various nova parts, and my shed that I wanted to store panels safely etc is full of wheels for various cars I either dont own or dont need anymore!
Engine will be a brand new 2.0 Zetec.
It will be road legal, but mainly used for Track/Solo etc.
Will be registered on a new reg as all new parts will be used, and hope to take about a year or so to build, so hopefully a 62 Registration.
looks cool and right up your street loggy! What'll it look like when done?

Should be an interesting build to be honest, one of the nicest looking kit-car builds around if you ask me :)

Not quite like that, in respect it has the newer style bodywork.
Has a different style skuttle and doesnt have the triangular side panels.

What'll the zetec run on? carbs or bodies?
What colours it going?
Looking forward to this build!

Engine will be on standard management at first, to keep costs down and aid a simple IVA process for emmissions. (Not as simple as having a friendly MoTer to 'aid' it through).
Panels have been ordered in black, but may well try some vinyl to jazz it up.
Something like this:

Bought chassis and cage + powdercoat, so no fabrication needed on that.
Came with all wishbones, arms, pushrods, suspension, Capri uprights, ball joints, propshaft, drive shafts, pedal box, bias M/C, brake lines (aeroquip), 2.4 quick rack & column, ally panels, GRP panels, loom. Probably a few more bits ive forgotten.
All above was circa £6k.
Engine was £600 posted.
Will be type 9 (full recon unit) with sierra 7" diff (to be sourced).
Other parts to get are, rad, shorter sump, fuel tank/lines/pump, seats, dials, harnesses, brakes, wheels tyres.
Expecting another 2-3k to build, then it will cost over 500 to IVA and register.

Looks awesome black! Would love to build one of them ( or any kitcar tbh).
Must be a nice way to build something with nice clean, shiney parts.
About time you got a new project, looks like it will be a awesome one too.

Latest Update:
Cut all the ally panels weekend before last.
Raw kindly mark up all the shapes which makes like a little easier (however, for the keener eyed, anyone spot the dilberate mistake on both sidepanels and the tunnel sides?)

I did buy some Air Metal Sheers, but I dont think my compressor is up to the task as they didnt seem to cope. I reverted to Jig sawing them, and with these lil ally blades it went thru them like warm butter.

The only trouble with a jigsaw is the loose swarf gets caught and marks the sheets, so I protected them with some MDF.

The course blade left the edges a ltttle rough, but nothing a file wont tidy.

After offing up various panels I decided the chassis was in danger of getting scratched so put some paper sheets to use:

and then flipped it on its side to sort the floor panels:

'G' clamps from Lidl coming in handy:

Also noticed some gaps in the powder coating where the chassis musts have been on an A frame. Will get the Electrostatic magic out to cover them over.

Oh I forgot - i do have an update, I know I said i'd do standard management to keep costs down - but I 'accidently' bought at set of Alpha 45mm TBS with all the gubbins (ecu injectors etc). Bought from a friend, brand new never used, for under half RRP :)
Can I borrow them for my focus til you need them? ;)

Bristol I did in my Bros MX5 so spent the day drifting rather than getting good times, I did a devizes one, but thinl that was the year before, got first in class IIRC:
