any way im having trouble with my gear selection.

it goes into everything but 1,2 and reverse fine. and only has trouble with these gears acasionally. I do the same action to put it into 1st, but it goes into 3rd instead. could it be the clutch plate or the linkage. I rekon its the plate cos it not clearing well enough, but im not buying a new one if it aint that thats the fault.

any ideas oh wise ones?

could be the top arm on the linkage

put it into 3rd then push the stick sideways and see if it will move over to where 1 is

if so then it could be that - its like a plastic arm on the top of the linkage

mine popped off and i could only get 3rd and 4th which is rather embarrasing when your at the front of the queue in some traffic lights in a 1.2i nova trying to move off in 3rd :@
