Does anyone still see novas on the roads these days??

With the exception of my/your own novas, does anyone still see them driving about these days? I dont. Used to see a few kicking about driven by old people and some by enthusiasts, but not for a while now.
Now I think about it, lots of old cars that I grew up with have disappeared!

Mk3 cavs have all been bought and scrapped by the banger racing lot, along with all the Sierras/Granadas/Cortinas
Mk1&2 Fiestas
Mk3-4, even 5, Escorts - Dont even see Escort RS turbos as much as you used to here in Essex
metros, meastros, montegos, all the Austin Rover stuff I suppose!

the list goes on and on!
I know things rust, get crashed/stolen etc, but my point is that you dont notice they've gone untill you actually stop and think about each car specifically.

I used to leave my number with every nova I ever saw parked or looking abandoned, hoping the owner would give it up. It used to work as well, until scrap prices went up!

3 or 4 novas round my way a few mk2 astras and at work we have a mk1 fiesta 35000 original miles a granada 2 xr4s and a meastro with an rs200 kit on it a few saab 900s and a saab 95 v4

theres a clean lookin SR driven by a proper old man...2 yellow 2door loons, a baige hatch, white hatch, blue more door like mine, a red more door loon....so yes...a fair old few, but you rarely see them

It always gets me when you see pictures, film or video from the 1980's and 90's and everything looks so old esp all the cars. Most of which you dont see any more although there were loads about then even though it wasnt long ago.

You can really tell when you go down the scrappy used to be novas fiestsas cavs etc now its puntos meganes rover 25s etc etc and im only talking 5 or so years ago

Keep seeing a slightly worse for wear 3door loon, driven by an old bloke. And sometimes on the way to work I've noticed what appears to be a mint MK1 parked on someone's private drive.

Oh, and there are a couple heavily abused MK2's being ragged around by the local boy-racers

The two Novas that were closest to me have been scrapped off. There was another one not far away but I don't go that way very often so don't know if its still there. Closest hot Vauxhalls near me are a pair of Mk1 Astras

In 2008 i last counted 14 round here (gsi/gte/sr/sri),some very nice examples at that aswell,now i know of 3,thats including mine.
Was great in summer 07 and 08 because all the silly boys down the seafront trying to be cool in their corsa's,saxo's and clios never got a look off women or anyone.

their is a white gsi in perfect condition about 5 miles from my house. then buger me i saw it in vauxhall main dealer having bits done, some old biddy drives it and she always leaves it with a steering wheel lock and gear nob lock on it so she pretty clued up lol iv left my number numerous times but know luck.

i just dread the day she gets rid for pennys to some snapped peak burberry wearing chav man!

nope.. there are loads of old dears still driving them. there were 3 dealers in the area, batchelor bowles (now martin rumble & being demolished), verdon garage (long gone), and Smiths of Pinwall (now ford) the 1st one was the main dealer, the last 2 were sub dealers... they put a lot of base model cars out there back in the day.....

I see a mint white GTE quite a bit on the A55 in Conwy quite a bit and a black GSi now an again on the A38 in Stone sometimes. Spotted a blue J reg on the M6 at quarter to six monday morning too.

my mate has a lazer blue gte xe, big chaps gsi are both walking distance from my house, theres vxkevs, another mate has a nordic blue 3 door 1.4, a know a lad with 2 nordic blue hatchs and saloon, and obv there mine, an old chap drives a blue mk1 4 door hatch about, welded more time than the forth bridge lol

I see a neglected red MK2 2 door hatch in sleaford most days, I tend to follow him along the road on my way to work. It's got new rear quarters recently welded in, and just randomly sprayed white.
I used to see a really tidy TD parked just over the road from where I work, but he's sold it now and bought a gayhat astra diesel :tard:
oh and I discovered someone who works on the other industrial estate has a minty mint MK2 astra GTE, totally original. I was so excited when I saw it I nearly crashed :( lol

Cambridge has a fair few, mostly in that turqoise popular with old people, and in fact mostly driven by old people.

There is a local red Mk1 to me, same reg (F) with some attempts at SR-ing it but I know it's a 1.2 merit. Think its owned by a young guy from when I've seen it pass my house.

I also shout 'Nova' when I see one too....weird to think how rare they, and other cars of my childhood, are nowadays. Sad really :(

I sold a maroon mk2 hatch to a guy that doesnt live too far from you. But I still dont see many round the area. There is a guy that flies around in a red solar. Even the old people that I used to see driving ancient mk1's must have died off! lol

when i was 16/17 there was at least 10 regular noavs you used to see in the few local towns here.

theres an ex show car, rounded wide arches, big K spoiler, 18s etc on a guys drive a few street away from me. i used to knock about with the lad, was originally a red MK1 SR on 40s, then it went XE'd and pink with the K kit, last i heard it was turbo'd and blue with the arches

Saw a completely standard Pug 309 for the first time in years last night. Just as i was talking about that ThunderSaloon one in the project threads at the moment. Theres a mint Nova 'loon at the end on my road in a garage no driven any more. Owned by an old couple, popped a note in the door but didn't hear back. Other than my own and my mates, and a mk2 hatch at work, i don't see any.
