Hey all, can anyone identify this back box, i think its ment for a gsi, its a genuine gm part i have checked the part number with ocp, and it only comes up with muffler, but doesnt say what model, it fitted perfect on my old nova sr, anyone know for sure what nova its for thou ?

did it fit striate on or on a slight angle if it sits striate it look like a GSI if it sit's on a angle it look like a GTE one but am guessing it gsi

iirc, it sat straight out, the sr had a mk2 back bumper, iam pretty sure its for a gsi due to the angle it sat at.

Looks slightly different than my gsi backbox. Same shape but the pipe looks a bit longer or maybe thinner.

looks like a box for a larger car imo, the nova backbox is also angled up more at entry, I'd get someone to check epc on it for the part number, if it is for a nova it's a saloon box for sure!

Yes it for a Mk2 GSi

From EPC
E16SE/C16SE
Chassis Number M4000001 onwards
Silencer, assy, rear and tailpipe ( Aftermarket Spec)

This means is a cheaper version on the OE exhaust so may look slighty different

if your looking for a GTE (MK1) tail pipe i might be able to get hold of one, GM part, just waiting for a cost price but it is listed as an Aftermarket unit so same applies as i've said in the last post

Interesting, pipe looks way too long for a hatch lol Maybe the box is a tad shorter.
