I was looking at my car last night in the garage with a view to doing some work on it. Its a 2.0 8valve conversion that was done by someone else.

Firstly I noticed it doesnt have the chassis leg cut out, its just been bashed with a hammer slightly. Also from underneath you can see the flywheel through a gap between the engine and box, is that normal? Im wondering if its been fitted without a bellhousing and if so why?

the bit thats missing is access/inspection cover for the clutch, probably get one of here for next to nothing, as for the alternator recess theres no need for it to be cut as most people do, aslong as its been hammered back in a roundish shape in you have enough clearance then its perfectly fine :p

Take a left hand bend fast, you will know if its hammered back enough then.
The flywheel cover plate is missing thats all,not the clutch inspection plate.
I never had one on mine and iit was ok
