Right im looking to buy somebits off a guy on mig. Now i dont know him and the cost is £70 but he wants me to send him the money as a gift, if i dont ecieve the goods worst case can i get my money back?:confused:

he wants you to send it as gift so he dosent get fees from pay pal personaly id offer to pay the fees and do it as sale of goods just explain that as you dont know him you would rather do it that way so if there is any problems you have some protection

By sending it as a gift he avoids the transaction fee, an you end up paying it instead. Also, an as said already, you have no comeback if you dont receive said item/s.

Pay it as a normal payment but send a bit extra to cover the fee's, id always be wary of anyone who demands payment as a gift tbf, scammers know you can reclaim your monies without their say-so if the items are damaged/wrong/not sent, whereas you cant if you send it as a gift, and youre up the creek without a paddle if they dont send you anything once you have 'given' them £70 notes.

Not quite true. I never get charged for gifts.

Tell him to GTF or say you will pay the extra, 4%? so you're covered* with Paypals buyer protection.

sale price/0.97 +20p gives you the paypal fees on anything under 5 grand or something silly lol
