mine is completely buggerd i have broken down 3 times now because i ran out of fuel, last time it said i had a half and it konked out.
then before that it was a quarter when it died.
and when i put £20 in it it goes well over full,
do you think this could be the sender or the clocks?
does anybody elses do this?

probably the sender, I'd pull it out the tank and check for anything obvious, then stick a known working one in to check it. running out of fuel sucks big time :( I have on seceral occasions and its well embarrassing. jerry cans ftw!

Mine is shagged just the same..... I take no notice of it and just fill up every 100miles regardless.....Or after every drag/race/tuning session!

Even if the fuel gauge reads wrong (for what ever reason) you should NEVER run out of fuel.

When I have fuel gauge issues. (mine was the gauge not the sender) all I did was....

Fill up and reset the clocks, do 250 miles, then fill up.

Simple really.

I do use the fuel gauge too. As far as i've worked out it under reads. So i have more fuel then indicated.

i see what your saying kief but mine changes all the time, like i ran out on a quarter and now a half?

^ exactly! Surely if you put £10/20/whatever in you should have an idea of how far that will get you lol

Just reset the trip each time and use that instead of the fuel gauge.

I used to do that, then once went to fill up expecting it to be near empty again, got about £3 in and pump started clicking lol

If your trip doesn't work, then your mileometer doesn't work...?

also even if they are mk1 and mk2 you can take the fuel gauge out the mk2 ones and fit it to the mk1 ones there the same gauge

but id go for the sender
