Make a note of the milage of your origional clocks and then fit your new ones? take it the milage is less?

Just wondering if you have to add a note to documents, will it pass an MOT if you change clocks, yea my miles is 75k these have 30k on them

It will pass an mot as the clocks dont really come into it. just make a note and then in your history add a note saying clocks replaced. another option is swapping the speedo over from your origional clocks to the gsi ones.

You can fiddle them to read the correct mileage (what I'd do). Otherwise just write down the mileage on both the clocks when you swap them over and you can work out the true mileage from that. MOT does look a bit funny with varying mileage every year tho lol

The miles are easy to change. It's legal to do as your swapping the clocks over.

if the mileage on the new clocks is lower, just run it up to the same with an electric drill :)

Or if it's higher run it right round the clock lol

*edit* pants, she's logged in again lol

^ have you ever done that? Will take days. You can just unscrew the clocks and roll the dials over to correct it.

Nova clocks are pretty much the easiest on the planet to correct the milage on

i reset a set of clocks on a jap pickup by removing a worm gear & with an airline, blew the miles to where they needed to be.... 20000miles in a couple of minutes...

nova ones are truly simple. do not resort to screwdrivering them, just move the centre shaft out & then turn each number carefully. then put it back in.

Right so Ive took the speedo out, what is the centre shaft?

Why wont you tell me if I cant work it out?

If no1 passed information down the lines this world would be no where

And we'd have a lot less clocked cars.

matt, it is a self answering question...it is a shaft thru the centre. it is down to you to work out how to remove it but it is not exactly rocket science...

we have a forum policy of not posting information of this nature.... we are against clocking, ringing, and other forms of theft, so we don't put sensitive info in the public domain.

your case is most likely totally honourable, but there are a lot of anonymous watchers who might like to knock 50k off a car to inflate its value.
