i just had a word with the b*stard insurance company about my policy and they have told me that any modifications to wheels bodywork or engine will result in any driver under 21 years of age(By the way im 18)unable to be insured/drive the car!!

is this a loada crap or r they rite? if so is there a way round it (other than not specifying it)

think you is screwed, the insurance company has the right to choose who they insure an set down certain rules for the insured parties, if you don't tell them an have a crash you are also screwed as the company will say you didn't declare it so you aren't insured
try ade or ian for a better explaination as think they both work for insurance co's

if that info they just gave you aint in the agreement, or wasnt stated before you signed the insurance document then in theory you can leave the insurance company because they have changed the agreement without notifying you. But in most cases they will have put it in small print somewhere. they did this to my mum. She changed to more than, and now they dont put anyone under 20 on the insurance, not even for a week, but they didnt state this on the agreement so she kicked up a fuss. But then again they dont listen to people under 30 anyway. anyway good luck, my advice is CIS as they let me fit full GSi body kit and lower 60mm on my 1.4 lux plus 5dorr and didnt put it up at all. They are fine appart from engine mods.

Mr Standard suggests getting a years NCB.....

Save your money and buy a proper kit, I'm not saying your going to put a naff one on, but just spend 5 minutes and work out how much you could have 12 mths down the line.

You might even have enough to pay off next years insurance in one paymet, saving yourself even more money.

Just to make you laugh, An insurance company quoted me and extra ?70 to fit 2 spotlights to my Landy. Didn't go with em in the end, they were asking ?1300 TPFT instead of ?700 Fully Comp which I've got now

if you put ?700 worth of wheels on a ?500 car, it does alter the insurance value quite a bit. but if you stick a K&N replacement filter instead of the original, who is going to look.

You have to be fairly honest about this stuff.

Depends what state the cars in when you crash it........?

Honesty is the Best Policy
