how can you tell the difference between a f13 n f13cr?

thanks :thumb:

if you are lucky, it will not have been swapped for a wr cluster & have it stamped on the casing.. but apart from counting teeth, i don't know of an easy 100% guaranteed way.

just a thought, i have an F13 that was given to me and is stamped C (cr) but it has a problem with the diff. is it worth the effort to split it/check it out and swap the cluster into my other W (wr) box that has a 418 final drive?

are the close ratio boxes that good?

personally I would stick the 418 diff in the CR box, but that would depend on what you will be using the car for....

check on the bottom plate of the cluster. It will be stamper C394 or C374 or W394 or W418 etc. the numbers are the diff FD C or W is the cluster type.

that method is ok if you know the history of the box, theres a small chance that in its 20 years of existence its had the cluster or diff swapped at some point

the box will be used for road rallying nothing special. i would love a 'trick' box and diff (quaife) but too expensive :(

so close ratio is better?

yes, check the number of teeth on the 4th & 5th gears (input & output, tippex is your friend) then you will need a puller to get the diff gear off the output shaft.

Hi mate, you would be better with a decent make OEM clutch kit, heard lot of mixed reviews about black diamond stuff, i ran one in a fiesta rally car an tbh it was pants :tard:

been a few posts since i was last online :)

yes the 453 CWP came on early corsa and combo more on the 1.2 engine than enything else, looked around local breakers at about 100 boxes in all but never found one :( one day, one day :d the 418 will do for now best of both worlds i suppose accelleration and top end, but the 453 would be just puuurfect as top end speed is rarely reached on road rallys.

as for the black diamond clutch, it was on ebay (complete kit) and i won it for £28 inc post :thumb: so it would have been rude not to :) demon tweeks list the same clutch for over £170 + vat

If you got it for that price then its not too bad then. Ours fell to bits after 3 events :tard: think we paid over 130 quid for it.
