HI all does anybody know a suitable paint that can be applied before exhaust wrapping. Or can an exhaust be powder coated.

powder coating doesnt have that much higher tempreture resistant that normal 2k paint, just tougher. you can buy rattle can paint from a motor factors that is specially designed, but i would really sit there and go to down getting rid of rust on the manifold or corrosion before applying it. and making sure you do light dusting coats and leave it about a week to fully dry before you go sticking on the exhaust wrap or it will fall off start to burn then smell like a badger! i would honestly just wrap it and be done with it

High temp BBQ paint from B+Q is the best paint I've come across that doesn't burn off manifolds after 2 miles

This.

I gave mine a few coats and then taped it up. The paint was mainly for the flanges really.

if its mild steel it will rot regardless of the paint. when you wrap it it keeps the heat in and cooks the steel.

you should technically only wrap stainless manifolds.
