I believe its the only thing i really enjoy on tv? looking forward.
Why? lol
Because it always is... :d
tbh i think the last couple of years its gone a bit ott, will be funny listening to clarkson giving the ex stig some abuse!

But thats what makes it soo good and enjoyable + 100x better than fifth gear!
I preffered it with a small amout of content not just clarkson faning his ego with the two gimps kissing his ass!
It's turned into the modern day equivalent of last of the summer wine now!
If I see them roll down a hillside in a bathtub this series, then I'm off for good! lol

Well it will certainly be on in this house, it has slid from topical to just comedy, but i still like it.
i am old enough to remember when it was a serious show & presented the rac rally report.....
then it got all crap & basically grew old... then it moved to 5 & became fifth gear, and then remarkably someone decided to create a lads mag car show...
I wasn't around in 1977 lol. I've watched it from as long as I can remember though. I'd love to see some of the older stuff again, Steve Berry, Tony Mason reviews etc. Youtube has scant offerings.

I also agree that ego is huge but can be funny lol

I still enjoy it and will watch it on Sunday, the only programme me and the wife watch together really.
I remember watching Top Gear years ago when Noel Edmunds was on it, terrible but was a show about cars rather than family entertainment.
dont get me wrong i watch it but i fear if they get even more ridiculos then i will eventually turn it over.
I wonder how much the ever increasing slap-stick style has to do with pimping the programme out ever more to Americans.

Top Gear.
Please insert Burt Kwok and Russ Abbott to continue.
Id swap em for Clarkson and Hammond.
Be awesome.
I remember Tony Mason standing in a cold Welsh field in the p"ssing rain with Escrotes sliding past behind him :d
As Ben said, its just getting rediculous. I do like it, and I want to like it more, but its getting to the point where its just a cringe fest.
- Clarkson will blow something up and get excited
- Hammond will drive a Porsche and get excited
- There will be a few anti-stig comments
- a heavily scripted car vs. something else will be "closely won" by clarkson in the car
- pointless staged quarter mile with a supercar to show up some insignificant technicality (remember the evo at 30mph...)
- humour directed at Hammond's miniscule size
- May will faff over something only for it to then fail spectacularly
- A "celeb" guest will come on to pimp their latest book/movie/tv show and hardly get a word in edgways
There you go. No need to watch it now, I've just described this new series for you!
and lets not forget that it will be 3 'new' shows and then 20 'best of's''s's's' lol
Dont think I'll watch till next series as the stuff I'm working on will be on it then :)
tony mason had a fantastic competitive career in rally co driving, then was a well respected motoring journalist... what's everyone remember him for...???

Please, less of the rose tinted spectacles regarding the old Top gear. Jesus christ it was morosely boring. Chris Goffey could literally make people commit suicide by just talking, Tony mason would stand in a muddy field while a few cars drove by EVERY WEEK and he may as well have been in the same muddy field, and Quentin Wilson would go to a used car dealership and buy a pile of rust for 20p and then urge you to do the same!
Shows like that are not required anymore since the interwebs were invented. What do you think killed the show in the first place? If you want to know about a car, you can look up countless reviews by countless people, there are countless sites which will tell you how to buy a used car, and where to buy them, and you can watch as much rallying as you could possibly desire.
Basically, if the current Top Gear wasn't running, there wouldn't be a Top Gear at all. Fifth gear is just as bad, most weeks its just Tiff and Plato finding out who can drift a double decker bus, the only difference is, fifth gear are still desperately trying to hang on to being a 'proper' motoring show. At least Top Gear know theyre a bunch of fools!
Long and short of it, don't watch it if you don't like it. I don't care that its scripted, or mindlessly stupid. i just like the fact that they can get away with it, and are pretty much the last hope in edgy telly before offcom and the green party finally shut them down for good.

I love TG, I dont watch it for any sort of motoring relevance, its just funny as fook. And most people (especially those who clain not to like it) are only jealous because they wish they could have as much fun with cars lol
I love it and cant wait for it too be sunday for that pure reason!
