One of my teachers races these, there are a few bits that can be used on the vaux side of life. IRRC the wheels are the right offset etc...dont quote me. Engines and stuff has a few minor diff's but not much.
engine is fairly low spec.. gearbox is ok, fuel pump etc ok...
There has been one converted to a astra gte 16 v on mk2.com lol

I read something about them being different too. I assumed maybe inner wings/quarters etc nothing 'massive'. Like you say though, there must be a reason!
almost everything is different. firewall, door hinges are in a different place, floorpan etc.
but.. the 1500 is running a f16 box, with smallblock shafts , so the inner cv's are used a lot overhere.
the car is based on the astra 2 shell, but it got re-designed as the pontiac leMans, so it needed a big enough hole for the gm auto box etc... then the us crash protection stuff, then daewoo actually made them under contract for pontiac & then decided to make them under the daewoo brand
considering the mk1 & mk2 astras share their floorpan, it is still a mid seventies designed chassis...

lol
I will forward it to Honda as only down the road

People in the uk are lazy and just go for the tried and tested cav route!
we are the same, but when you run out of cav joints, people find something else.
a few years ago massive money was made with this trick, only a few people knew about it, and bought them for 10 euro a set, selling them on opel forums for 50 a set lol
