so gave it a quick bash on a few bits, the inlet manifold cleaned up really quick and looks superb, i only done a small area on the wing and the paint was removed very easily but it left the rust alone lol so its not effective on rust, im also leaving the small wing area untreated to test the claims that soda blasting leaves a film on the surface of metal that will prevent flash rusting for upto 4 weeks.

the wheels didnt work so well, these wheels have been refurbed twice by the looks of it, the top coats of paint come of with a little effort but the etch primer is rather stubborn TBH, next i'll attack my F28 to see how it copes with oil and grease covered surfaces lol

now the pics

looks good ive done a fair bit of blasting myself its fun, always be careful with alluminum otherwise you get a furry texture its not good. also when spraying engine its make sure there clean of the stuff before they go back tiny bits can cause all types of havoc! so do be careful with that f28!!! otherwise the gears will be sludge

Jimmy Shine's '34 Ford is awesome.

Hard Shine/Hotrod Apprenitce is about the only reality TV show I have ever liked.

So-Cal/Shine build some amazing stuff.

Nice toy BTW Baz! handy for taking the graft out of a few jobs I'll bet!

i'm going to try a different media on the wheels as it uses far to much soda for very little area cleaned

Atleast you know they will be done properly Cle lol

fastcars, it's using bicarbonate soda and high pressure air, same as sand blasting but without the side effect of damaging the origional surface,
it like a gental exfoliation lol

Total cost from eBay shop was £300, that's for the blaster ( soda and hard media ) 50kg of soda and 25kg of hard media,

I've got a sh!t load of wheels, engine covers, gearboxs and other bits I need blasted and painted so it works out quite well for me.
