Round ports - 1.6 GTE/GSI and 1.4 SRI (all MPI engines)
Square ports - 1.4 Carb and 1.4 + 1.2 SPI engines
Cathedral ports - 1.2 and 1.3 carb engines (cathedral means like a church window shape)

cheers for the info. iv got a 1400 engine but have carbs for the cathedral ports so will the 1200 head fit on the 1400 block n just swap the cams around?

1600 cam won't have a lobe for the fuel pump, so you'd need to get an aftermarket fuel pump

1.4 cam has the highest lift of all standard nova cams

If its new lol unless you have an aftermarket cam I wouldn't bother...even then select profile carefully depending on your engine mods :thumb:

I was always under the impression that a 1.6 nv cam+carrier would act as a high lift cam in my 1.4nv (sr).........
